About the Baptist Bookroom

The Baptist Bookroom was established in 1960 by the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, a group representing more than 538 United Baptist churches across the Atlantic provinces. Our vision from the beginning has been to provide the Christian community Christ-centered resources for salvation and spiritual growth.

In our early stages, business was carried out in a small room of the Convention Office. That’s how we got known as The Bookroom. By 1977 with a greater need for more books and resources to assist Christians in their growth as well as Pastor's in their ministries the Bookroom moved to a larger location on Germain St. in the heritage part of uptown Saint John.

From these small beginnings, we grew to a large, well established Christian bookstore meeting the spiritual and resource needs of individuals and churches throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond. Two future moves took us to interior Mall locations first in Loch Lomond Mall and then Parkway Mall, in East Saint John. In June 2006, the Bookroom moved to our current location in the beautiful new strip-plaza next to Michael's Craft Store on McAllister Drive; affording us greater visibility and a more modern facility

We carry a broad range of Christian materials, are open during evening hours, have ample parking, and generally provide a fast turnaround time in special orders. As a result, we’ve become a favourite place for purchasing Christian literature, cards, gifts and music.

In addition to providing great products, we have a friendly staff who go the extra mile to provide you with the best possible service. We appreciate the friendships developed with our customers, many of whom have shopped with us since our beginning. In our work we try to live the Bookstore mission - to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus Christ and by demonstrating His love to a hurting world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
